Well, I'm back! Sorry I was gone so long, but my vacation sort of exploded into a time of craziness at both work and home and I just have not had the time to get caught up on anything -- until now.
But the good news is that it's been a great summer so far, although my writing has dragged a bit. Still, I'm putting words to paper, albeit slowly. Plus, this post is to catch you up on two new writing events I'm taking part in, both on the blogs of two fellow writers I'd really like you to check out if you haven't already:
I. Nicole Singer's Olympic Blog Relay: "Ignite the Fire!"
Nicole at Write Me a World is hosting a Blog-Relay from July 27th through August 12th, to coincide with the Olympics in London! Each day, Nicole or a guest blogger will add a post about the inspiration, competition, and challenges of the Olympics, and it will be a fun and awesome way to celebrate the games.
I'm adding my part on August 6th, but I encourage you to visit Nicole's blog each and every day during the relay to experience the Olympics in a writer-centric way. ;^)

II. DL Hammons' "WRiTE CLUB 2012!"
DL at Cruising Altitude 2.0 is once again hosting his awesome writing event, "WRiTE CLUB" for 2012. This is a fun writing competition between anonymous submissions of 500 words, beginning July 30th and stretching out once a week until the finals begin October 22nd.
Sign up at DL's blog and you can vote on your winner each week.
And here's a slight secret: I've submitted a piece! ;^)
While the competition is going on, I will NEVER reveal which piece is mine, or do anything to even suggest which one might be mine. That's cheating and not in keeping with the spirit of WRiTE CLUB! And, depending on the number of anonymous submissions Don gets, there's a possibility that mine might not even be randomly drawn to make it into the competition.
But if it does, I'll be sure and clue you in so you can see how my writing did in the ring -- but only AFTER the competition is over.

I'm really looking forward to these two competition-themed events, and I hope you'll enjoy them both. Be sure to check out them both!
